Climatise Scent concept — wearable and test setup

Problem
Climatise Scent started from a simple interaction design question: can smell change how people experience temperature and comfort? Instead of treating scent as decoration, we explored it as a material that could influence perception through the trigeminal nerve and create a different relationship between body, environment, and digital systems.

My Role
I focused on the bridge between sensory research and usable interaction. I researched olfaction and trigeminal pathways, helped choose peppermint and black pepper as test scents, and worked on the wearable form so the prototype felt understandable rather than experimental for the sake of novelty.

Key Decisions & Learning
Delivering scent had to be noticeable without becoming distracting. I explored airflow-based vaporization, scent switching, and ambient temperature logic as ways to control timing and intensity. The project taught me that multisensory design needs careful calibration: a smell can support an experience, but if the timing or intensity is wrong it can easily take over the whole interaction.
